Awareness Check-In & Store
The hub of the National Addiction Awareness Campground is the Awareness Check-in & Store where guests can sign in and plan the details of their stay. An ATM conveniently located within makes it easy for guests to obtain funds. Purchase firewood, camping supplies and gift store items, or take in a snack at either the indoor or outdoor snack bar.
Check the note board and plan your activities or amuse yourself in the game room. Visit the Lost & Found if you’ve misplaced something or investigate employment and donor opportunities at our information center. Open 24 hours, coin-operated washers and dryers will be available for laundry.
A bike rack provides a place to park your two-wheel transportation, but once here you won’t be needing it much, as everything you want to visit is within walking distance along our donor-engraved Awareness Brick Pathways. Your path to awareness begins here.
Awareness Security Station
At the National Addiction Awareness Complex, we believe awareness has to be friendly but firm. Our security staff of trained professionals will be present and on-hand to ensure guests are able to enjoy their stay with absolute safety, secure in the knowledge that no breach of rules will go unenforced. Violators will be removed to allow those in recovery to continue to live the addiction-free lifestyle they are working toward without temptations.
Though the National Addiction Awareness Complex is not a gun-free zone, the security staff is not here to be feared or make guests feel unwelcome. Quite the opposite. Their friendly, caring nature is what encourages them to do all they can to help provide a great, drug-free experience for those who choose that way of living.
When buses arrive, the security team will be the first to greet them, and if anyone needs to visit the Nurses Station or the Lost & Found, they are there to help. Our Security Staff plays an important role in making the National Addiction Awareness Complex a center for growth, serenity and family.
Awareness Field Camping
At the outer edge of the National Addiction Awareness Campground, field camping offers a more rustic experience for those who wish to forego the luxuries of home afforded by staying in a cabin. No water or electricity is in this area, but what you do have is a communal experience with nature that cannot be compared.
With your own supplies or those available at the Awareness Check-in & Store, the field camping option at the National Addiction Awareness Campground is ideal for those in recovery looking to find clarity, reflect on what they have learned in their program and be part of something bigger.
It’s a great place to settle down for an outdoor concert.
Awareness Site Camping
Among the camping options available at the National Addiction Awareness Campground, site camping on our vast, level campground will allow you to camp in a tent or lie under the stars in the open air (free of smoke and other drugs, of course!), while having access to water and electricity.
Restrooms with hot showers are nearby and laundry services provide guests the opportunity to extend their stay without having dirty clothes piling up.
With a fire ring for roasting marshmallows or frankfurters and a picnic table where meals may be enjoyed, the site camping experience is perfect for field trips. Both teachers and students on school trips will be safe in a drug-free, security-enforced environment. Able to accommodate numerous campers at a time, the National Addiction Awareness Campground will be spacious enough to fit 180 tents on its clean, unpolluted land.
Stop by our Awareness Check-in & Store where you will be able to purchase the supplies you need, then participate in any of the themed events happening on the National Addiction Awareness Campground.
Students, and other visitors discovering the facts behind addiction, will find that being in the great outdoors reflects what recovering addicts experience as they work hard to “Survive, Live and Enjoy.”
Awareness Log Cabins
Available in two sizes, Awareness Log Cabins will be available to rent for meditative or recreational visits. Complete with a dining area, sitting room, a full kitchen and bathroom, our 80 cabins will have heat and air-conditioning, while some include lofts.
Outside the cabin, relax on the front porch, go for a walk and explore nature’s wonderland or visit the Awareness Meeting Fire Pit. Connecting to our available Wi-Fi, you will have the option to stay in touch with the outside world—but why would you want to in this perfect “get-away-from-it-all” haven?
Celebrate an anniversary or escape for a honeymoon or long-overdue vacation in a cabin of your choice at the National Addiction Awareness Campground, the nation’s Home of Awareness.
Awareness Tree Cabins
What better way to escape the world than by retreating to an off-the-ground treehouse? Aside from the luxuries of air-conditioning and electricity, the National Addiction Awareness Campground’s 20 tree cabins will offer the next-best thing to actually living in the trees.
Themed cabins may be selected depending on guests’ reason for visiting. Guests are able to enjoy their tree-living experience with amenities including heat, a microwave, refrigerator and kitchen appliances.

Awareness Bunkhouses
The National Addiction Awareness Campground’s bunkhouses will offer the same amenities as the smaller cabins but with room to accommodate large groups wanting to stay on the grounds.
Schools, churches, conventions, families and other groups will be able to rent bunkhouses for their visit. As a recovery retreat, the National Addiction Awareness Campground offers a secluded haven for community members including policemen and women, firefighters, nurses, lawyers, teachers, pilots and doctors.
Whatever your purpose, there is sure to be a themed cabin to match. Field trips, arranged by schools or other organizations, will be able to select the most appropriate cabin for their age group or interest. Once there, groups can explore all that the National Addiction Awareness Campground has to offer, with the added benefit of doing so in a drug-free environment, as nature intended it to be!
Awareness Greenhouse
With a firm belief that nature holds the answer to many of life’s problems, the National Addiction Awareness Campground will include a greenhouse to offer recovering addicts and nature lovers the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of plant life.
Working with community gardeners to ensure all plants and flowers are properly cared for and thriving in the natural, drug-free environment found on the National Addiction Awareness Campground, our greenhouse will be a place where life is celebrated.
With complimentary mustard seed starters, campers will be able to take a bit of our campground home with them and recall their soulful, natural-living experience here — the perfect reminder to continue a healthy lifestyle.
Affirm your sobriety at the National Addiction Awareness Greenhouse and plant awareness for prevention!
Awareness Campground Restrooms & Showers
For campers not staying in cabins that have their own full bathrooms, the restrooms on the National Addiction Awareness Campground will offer clean facilities designed with the security of our guests and their possessions in mind. Lockers protect their clothes and personal items, while showers are lockable for their privacy and protection. Coin-operated washers and dryers will be available.
With temperatures moderated by heat or air-conditioning, depending on the time of year, the restrooms will be baby-friendly with family rooms and diaper-changing areas.
At the National Addiction Awareness Campground, we provide for your needs with attention to safety and cleanliness, for a healthy, worry-free experience for all.
Awareness Campground Stage
Equipped with state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, the Awareness Campground Stage will offer guests of the National Addiction Awareness Campground a high-tech solution for their performance or forum needs.
Talent contests or less formal performances by family members who like to take the stage are encouraged, while karaoke can be set up for a fun-and-friendly singing competition. When not in use for entertainment, the stage doubles as an open meeting spot where recovering addicts may gather to hold a session or listen to a speaker on any number of subjects.
Come and shine on the National Addiction Awareness Campground stage, where we can all learn.
Awareness Meeting Fire Pit
Up to 400 guests will be able to fit in the coliseum seating around the National Addiction Awareness Campground’s spacious Awareness Meeting Fire Pit, the ideal spot for a support meeting of the highest order.
As the sun sets and taps can be heard accompanying the daily flag lowering ceremony, make your way along the pathway of donor bricks and burn your 5th Step in the fire pit’s soul-cleansing flames.
Speakers are set up so all can hear the support group leader’s words from any point around the pit. Amenities include charging stations for your phones and vending machines for ponchos in the case of rain.
The Awareness Meeting Fire Pit will be able to be reserved by groups and families when not in use. When held for recovery services, it is a place where you can meet friends you have not yet met.
Awareness Swimming Pool
Open 24 hours a day, the National Addiction Awareness Campground’s swimming pool will be an attraction campers will appreciate, especially on hot summer days. It will be heated for those who wish to extend the swimming season into the cooler months.
Accompanied by kiddie pools and a beach area for sunbathing, the pool area truly is for all ages. Lessons will be given for those who want to learn how to swim, and for those who already can there are diving/jumping contests and an exercise hour. But you don’t have to know how to swim to enjoy water sprayers, a paddle race or a water volleyball tournament held for bragging rights.
With all the entertainment that can be enjoyed at the National Addiction Awareness Campground pool, what further proof would one need to see that fun is best while living a drug-free life?
Awareness Playground
Younger children will not be left out of the fun at the National Addiction Awareness Campground. Its playground area will have soft rubber floors for their protection and plenty of attractions to hold their interest.
In addition to the swings and jungle gym you would expect to find at a playground, there will be crawling tunnels and a spaceship to explore. Water fountains will quench the thirst of hard-playing youngsters needing to stay hydrated.
No one is too young for the National Addiction Awareness Campground.
Awareness Baseball Field
Long considered to be the great American pastime, baseball will be played on a illuminated field at the National Addiction Awareness Campground. Reserve the field for a game, and don’t worry about your start time since the overhead lighting will keep play well-illuminated even after the sun sets.
When the field is unplayable due to unseasonal conditions like snow, there will be a batting cage in the National Addiction Awareness Attractions & Activities Area, just a walk or bike ride away.
Awareness Basketball Court
Shoot some hoops or reserve the court for an organized game of basketball at the National Addiction Awareness Campground. With overhead lighting so play doesn’t rely on the presence of the sun, the height of the hoops can even be adjusted to ensure that fun may be had by all ages.
Awareness Skateboard Park
Skateboarders, show us your stuff at the National Addiction Awareness Campground’s skateboard park. An activity that requires skill and balance, skateboarding is the perfect activity to show off at our Awareness Complex, demonstrating what can be accomplished only by keeping one’s wits and reflexes honed and sharp, not dulled by the influences of alcohol or other addictive substances.
Awareness Ice Skating Rink
The ice skating rink at the National Addiction Awareness Campground will be available only for guests staying on the campgrounds. Those wishing to use the facility must bring their own skates. When not in use for ice skating, the rink can be converted into an outdoor dance floor.
Awareness Volleyball Court
More of a warm-weather sport, volleyball will be offered in two locations, each for a different age group at the National Addiction Awareness Campground. Both spots are set up on the sand and illuminated, and net height may be adjusted to the players’ comfort level. Play a summertime beach sport in a sober atmosphere!
Awareness Pickleball Court
Join the fun on the National Addiction Awareness Campground’s Pickleball Court. Bring your paddles and challenge your friends or make new ones. Play under the lights and really show your stuff at the Awareness Pickleball Court.
Awareness Game Room
Test your skills or face off with family and friends in our amazing Awareness Game Room. Always a fantastic activity for kids and grown-ups alike, you will find classics like air hockey, board games, shuffleboard, billiards, skee-ball, video games and pinball. You are sure to enjoy hours of fun, laughs and memories playing your favorites, all in a drug-free sober environment!
Awareness Brick Pathways
The Awareness Brick Pathways at the National Addiction Awareness Campground will lead to each of our major sections within the Awareness Complex. These pathways are paved with donated bricks. An individual who donates a pathway brick can choose which custom location the brick will be placed throughout the Awareness Complex grounds. As the National Addiction Awareness Complex is being built, we will hold a volunteer brick paving event three separate times a year. This special event will be an entire weekend long and a great time for participants to camp, help place bricks and enjoy fellowship together! Whether you’re simply walking through or staying for an entire week, these bricks will be a wonderful architectural detail to catch your eye and remind you of all the wonderful National Addiction Awareness Complex donors!
Awareness Dog Park
Our Awareness Dog Park is a great place for your 4-legged friend to socialize and exercise. Fenced in with separate double-gated entry and exit points, shade for hot days, water, benches for humans and pooper-scoopers, your dog will enjoy the Awareness Camping experience as much as the rest of your family! There is even a separate enclosure for small dogs.
